Richard Moll, best known as the towering bailiff “Bull Shannon” on the long-running NBC sitcom Night Court, died Oct. 26 at his home in Big Bear Lake, Calif. He was 80 and no cause was given by his family.
Standing 6’8″, Moll was a character actor, but worked steadily during his career. Night Court ran from 1984 to 1992, and his commanding presence, deep voice, and endearing manner drew the frequent attention of casting directors.
After Night Court, Moll landed a recurring role on the sitcom Getting By, starring Cindy Williams, before appearing in an episode of the cult sci-fi hit Babylon 5. He also voiced the bodyguard to the title character of the animated Mighty Max.
His Night Court stint also enabled him to branch out into larger films and voiceover work on animated series, where he often relished the chance to play the bad guy. Moll was...

As the son of hip-hop stars the Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans, C.J. Wallace, 22, is never short of creative inspiration. He grew up closer to his mother — he was only five months old when his father was shot and killed in 1997 — but Wallace’s cannabis company, which he named Think Big, honors the iconic rapper’s legacy.

Donald Trump still has money rolling in from his time in show business. While cable news discusses how his latest financial disclosure pertains to the Stormy Daniels case, the document also reveals that he received a SAG pension last year totaling $64,840 and an AFTRA pension in the amount of $6,543.
The president also still is collecting residuals from guest appearances in old TV shows and movies. He got $201-$1,000 in residuals from WB Studios, mostly from an appearance on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He got a similar amount of residuals from Universal Studios, mostly from an appearance in 1994’s The Little Rascals. Entertainment Partners sent him a similar amount.
Getty Images paid Trump between $100,000 and $1 million for the use of photographic images. He got between $15,001-$50,000 from Trump Model Management, and the same range of amounts is being held for him in a bank account from the Miss Universe pageant.

So, each week, we’ll compile some of our favorite exchanges representing the wide variety of discourse seen on social media.

Oscar contenders can be the auteur, the veteran, the journeyman who’s elevated his craft. However, perhaps the most exciting breed is the Breakout, and that’s Damien Chazelle.
He’s not a rookie. His second feature, “Whiplash” (Sony Pictures Classics), scored a shocking five nominations including Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay (from his short), Editing, Sound Mixing, and a win for Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons.
However, following that breakout success is often a tall order for young directors, whose celebration is often followed by a morass of dealmaking and development hell.
That wasn’t Chazelle’s fate. With critically hailed fall festival hit “La La Land” (Lionsgate, December 9), Chazelle magically modernizes the colorful swirl of Jacques Demy French song-and-dance musicals “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” and “Les Desmoiselles de Rochefort” along with backstage showbiz romantic musicals such as “New York, New York” or Gene Kelly-starrer “Singin’ in the Rain.” In “La La Land,...

TBS is working on a scripted comedy series based on the life and lyrics of the iconic rapper Notorious B.I.G.
The show, titled “Think Big,” follows an inner-city teen trying to earn a living for his young daughter and son. The network did not reveal which lyrics exactly are the basis for the series, but there’s a slew of good one-liners that fans could try and pinpoint.
“Think Big” was created by Mass Appeal, which will produce the series along with Wayne Barrow from Bystorm Films and Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace for Notorious Big, Inc.

The Notorious Big is headed to the small screen — kind of. TBS is developing a scripted comedy series loosely based on the life and lyrics of the legendary rapper. Currently titled “Think Big,” the show will follow an inner-city teen trying to earn a living for his young daughter and son. No word yet on which lyrics specifically will serve as the basis for the series, but who wouldn’t love to watch a show based on “Big Poppa?” Because the question remains, “Who they attractin’ with that line/’What’s your name? Well, these live musicals have certainly turned things around. After the lifeless and bizarre Sound of Music came the truly baffling Peter Pan, and it seemed like society was hurtling faster and faster toward the garbage end-times than previously measured. But then, a few weeks ago, The Wiz shocked the nation with its quality and vision. Then came Grease: Live, and suddenly the idea of doing a live musical on network television made a tiny sliver of sense. All hail director Thomas Kail: The big takeaway from last night is that more is more. Think big. Then … think bigger.Because Grease: Live wasn't better than The Wiz by most other standards. The performances on The Wiz were probably on average a little better (especially lead versus leads), and the choreography less a direct lift from the movie versions. The increase in scale and scope is the distinguishing factor here...

Big day for Virgina hip-hop: First we got a new banger from Missy Elliott and Pharrell, now we have the return of King Push. Pusha T has debuted the Timbaland-produced "Untouchable," the first new song from his forthcoming sophomore solo album, King Push. And he's done it as the new president of G.O.O.D. Music, a title Kanye West passed on to his longtime friend this week. Already, Pusha's celebrating: "The president of G.O.O.D. Music has been announced / A quarter million a year and that don’t bounce," he brags over an ominous keyboard-heavy beat that samples Biggie's ferocious verse from Pudgee’s “Think Big.” This is the first new solo music we've heard from Pusha T since 2013's acclaimed My Name Is My Name, but it's not the only thing we've heard from the former Clipse lyrical giant. He's expanded his reach this year,...

Martin Scorsese's scabrous showbiz satire "The King of Comedy" is one of the director's oft-unsung masterworks, even if it took a box office hit in 1982. Now, it is getting the Broadway musical treatment. Composer and lyricist Stephen Trask (“Hedwig & The Angry Inch”) and Chris D’Arienzo, book writer of the Tony-nominated jukebox musical “Rock of Ages" (which later became the 2012 film flop) will pen this stage version of the cult classic about a desperate comedian who stalks and kidnaps his idol, a late-night TV host. New Regency, whose founder Arnon Milchan produced the original movie starring Robert De Niro, will back the project. Screen Australia invested more money in factual content than in TV drama and only slightly more in narrative features in the last financial year.
Yet the funding body recouped far less from documentaries than from drama and feature films.
That emerges from an analysis of Sa's annual report for 2013-2014 which was posted on its website in October but not widely disseminated.
In that period Screen Oz provided $74.5 million in direct funding in 196 projects with aggregate production budgets of $346 million.
Of that, $24 million was invested in 22 features with total budgets of $128.5 million. In TV, $11.8 million was invested in 11 dramas worth $92.6 million and $8.3 million in four children.s projects valued at $34 million. So the TV drama sector received $20.1 million.
Some $19.1 million was funnelled into 125 docs worth $57.8 million, including development and special initiatives such as Opening Shot and Think Big.

Queen Elizabeth II paid a visit to the Belfast set of Game of Thrones Tuesday, touring the series’ vast armory, perusing its racks of lavish costumes, and meeting actors including Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Conleth Hill (Varys), and Rose Leslie (Ygritte). The real queen of seven independent Commonwealth countries did not, however, attempt to gain control of seven fictional kingdoms by taking a seat on the show’s fearsome Iron Throne—a chair constructed by a thousand surrendered blades, “heated white-hot in the furnace breath of Balerion the Black Dread.

My early Christmas present to you takes the form of a new recap of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but before I begin, if you’ll humor me, I have an open letter I need to write first. Dear Jeep Cherokee People: Come on. Guys. Are you serious? Why did you choose Kyle Richards as your company’s spokesperson? You realize that, to promote your car-trucks, you hired the most despised, narcissistic, shallow, phony cast member on the Rhobh series, right? Did your research team show you that your target audience was all monsters? Or did you assume that we would appreciate that commercial ironically? Either way, Jeep Incorporated: You done Goofed. The only thing I want to see less than Kyle making “jokes” directly to the camera wearing a necklace that looks like it was purchased at the novelty store of the eighties, Think Big!
