Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game created by Ubisoft. It confirms the casting of Liev Schreiber as the voice of Sam Fisher, Clancy’s iconic stealth specialist. The clip was released today during Netflix’s Geeked Week event in Atlanta. You can watch it above.
Splinter Cell follows Fisher, a black ops agent working for a U.S. government division called the Fourth Echelon.
In the first look at the upcoming series, a pair of goggles sinks in water and flowers are placed on the coffin of a man named Douglas Shetland. The words “Beloved Father” are inscribed on the wooden casket, and Fisher narrates, “Once you get used to the shadows, you see bad people for who they really are. And they’ll never see you coming for them.”

Liev Schreiber is Sam Fisher. Netflix has released a first-look teaser at its anime adaptation of “Splinter Cell,” which confirms that the actor will be voicing Tom Clancy’s iconic stealth specialist in the upcoming series adaptation of Ubisoft’s action video game franchise. A title was also unveiled: “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.”
“Darkness is a good thing,” Fisher says in narration over the footage, revealed as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week fan event in Atlanta. “Once you get used to the shadows, you see bad people for who they really are. And they’ll never see you coming for them.”
The Fisher seen in the new footage sports a gray beard and seems to be older than the character’s appearance in Ubisoft’s “Splinter Cell” video game series.

Let’s be real. If you had to name the most badass action movie of the past few years, what’s the first flick that comes to mind? Yeah yeah, John Wick might be all the rage for teenagers, Liam Neeson continues to do his geriatric Charlie Bronson, and you can never discount Jason Statham and his brand of brutal butt-kicking. But come on, as far as violently visceral and scintillatingly satisfying underdog tales loaded with realistic fisticuffs and gore-sodden gunfights – nobody does it better than Nobody! Indeed, the 2021 cinematic blitzkrieg starring Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul as an unassuming everyman by day and certified ass-kicker by night hit all the right notes to deliver a vicious and delicious revenge dish for the ages.
With that being said, did you know that a Nobody 2 is currently back in the works? Did you know there were discussions about making...

The project reunites the Swiss production group with writing duo Bastian Zach and Matthias Bauer, who co-wrote Northmen – A Viking Saga.

Back in 2021, actor/comedian Bob Odenkirk – who is best known for playing the role of con artist turned lawyer Saul Goodman on the TV series on Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul – made the unexpected move of playing a retired government assassin in the action thriller Nobody. Doing the unexpected worked out, as Nobody was a success, making $57.5 million at the box office on a budget of $16 million. That was enough to get a sequel greenlit – and now that production has started on that sequel, we figured this was a good time to put together a list of Everything We Know About Nobody 2!
Script
Scripted by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad, Nobody saw Odenkirk playing Hutch Mansell, an office worker and family man who proves to be a capable fighter when facing off with a group of drunk criminals on a bus. He’s a bit too capable,...

Great Scott! With every new bit of Nobody 2 news, things just keep looking better and better for Universal and 87North's upcoming action thriller. Just last week, we shared the exciting announcement that Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone is set to play the lead villain in Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto's (The Night Comes For Us) eagerly anticipated sequel. And before that, we got confirmation that Bob Odenkirk is getting ready to rock and roll once again as assassin-turned-family-man-turned-assassin-again Hutch Mansell in the geriaction flick follow-up. Now, per Deadline's reporting, we know that Back To The Future legend Christopher Lloyd will be back as Hutch's shotgun-toting, retired FBI agent father David Mansell in the latest Nobody joint.
Hot on the heels of scoring an Emmy nomination for his role as Larry Arbuckle in Prime Video dramedy Hacks, Lloyd isn't the only Mansell family member confirmed to be returning in Deadline's report either.

Nobody 2, the sequel to 2021’s fun and fierce action film, starring Bob Odenkirk as a mild-mannered retired assassin who returns to his former life after a botched home invasion, is getting a significant update with confirmation that Sharon Stone is joining the cast for a villainous role. Bob Odenkirk and writer Derek Kolstad are back for Nobody 2, and we now know who the new director is too. More here.
Nobody was one of the biggest action cinema treats of 2021. Boasting one of the best fight sequences of that year – not since Sylvester Stallone’s brawl in The Specialist has a group of ruffians received such a thorough beating on a bus – a sequel has been in the works ever since.
The first film followed Bob Odenkirk as former assassin Hutch, who attracts the ire of a gang boss after he injures his son in the aforementioned beating.
Odenkirk suffered severe health problems in the years since, he had a heart attack and subsewuently had stents fitted. Thankfully, he came through it and according to Deadline, Odenkirk has closed the deal return for the sequel.

It's not every day we can start a story by telling you we have exciting news about nobody — but today we most assuredly do have exciting news about Nobody. As reported by Deadline, Bob Odenkirk has closed a deal to return as government-assassin-turned-family-man-turned-assassin-again Hutch Mansell in Nobody 2, the forthcoming sequel to Ilya Naishuller's rollicking 2021 geriaction thriller. And what's more, Indonesian action-horror filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto has been tapped to direct.
Whilst Tjahjanto's hiring marks Naishuller's departure from the Nobody franchise, John Wick creator and writer Derek Kolstad — who penned the first film — is back for the follow-up, having written the sequel's screenplay alongside Aaron Rabin (Jack Ryan), Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (Kate). As for what we can expect from Hutch's return, plot details remain tightly under wraps at present. However, as you may recall, the first film's tantalising post-credits sting saw Hutch — having just seen off the Russian mob...

This is a very exciting time for action cinema. Movies like "John Wick" have brought a new appreciation in American cinema for meticulous choreography and cartoon physics that make each set piece larger and wilder than the ones that came before them. Indie filmmakers like Adil & Bilall are similarly playing in the big studio space, while there's now unprecedented access to action movies from around the world, with filmmakers from countries like Indonesia leaving their mark on the genre. Indonesia, in particular, has seen some of the best action movies of the past decade, and it also gave us perhaps the most exciting voice in the genre working today — Timo Tjahjanto.
To quote our own Bj Colangelo, Tjahjanto "has never made a movie that didn't, at minimum, totally rip," whether it's his short films in "V/H/S/2" and "The ABCs of Death," his Sam Raimi-inspired movie "May the Devil Take You,...

A few months ago, producers David Leitch and Kelly McCormick confirmed that Universal is really invested in building the films Nobody and Violent Night out into franchises – so Nobody 2 and Violent Night 2 are both heading toward production. It was even suggested that Nobody 2 could start filming by the end of the year… and now the folks at Collider have learned that, if everything works out with the scheduling, the production start date could be just two months away! They hear that Nobody 2 is currently expected to start filming in August and wrap in October.

Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen will be returning for Nobody 2 – and the plan is to have it filming this summer. More here.
A very welcome, almost out of nowhere hit back in 2021, the film Nobody saw Bob Odenkirk became an action movie star. Released at a point where studios were struggling to buy a hit – er, well, not much unlike now – the film from a modest budget returned a handsome profit, and talk quickly sparked about a follow-up.
Odenkirk’s well-reported health problems will have slowed things down a little, but thankfully, he’s recovered. He’s set to reprise the lead role of Hutch in Nobody 2, opposite the also-returning Connie Nielsen.

A long-awaited video game adaptation now has new life. Universal Pictures has officially boarded the "Just Cause" movie, and the studio has some impressive talent behind the camera to make the project a reality. That starts with director Ángel Manuel Soto, best known for directing the DC superhero movie "Blue Beetle." The project has also added "The Fall Guy" director David Leitch and his producing partner (and wife) Kelly McCormick on board as producers with their company, 87North.
Universal has a longstanding relationship with Leitch, as the filmmaker made "Hobbs & Shaw" for the studio before stepping behind the camera for "The Fall Guy." He also very nearly directed the new "Jurassic World" film before Gareth Edwards took over. 87North has a first-look deal with the studio, so this partnership makes sense. Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson are also on board as producers. As for Soto,...

John Wick is undeniably one of the most successful franchises by director Chad Stahelski, and a major milestone for Keanu Reeves as well who is so loved in the role that fans can’t imagine anyone else as the titular character besides him. However, even before the first movie’s launch, someone had brutally negative thoughts and predictions on how it would turn out to be.
John Wick.
Surprisingly enough, this someone was none other than the mastermind Stahelski himself, who even predicted that the film would be such a massive failure that it would go “straight to video.” But what’s even more stunning than the filmmaker’s own predictions on his blockbuster saga was the fact that Reeves was never supposed to lead the franchise the way he ended up doing!

Lionsgate is expanding the billion-dollar John Wick franchise as the studio is developing a film for Donnie Yen to reprise his role in a new film centered around Caine, his character from John Wick: Chapter 4, to begin production in Hong Kong next year.
While the logline is being kept under wraps, the new film will continue Yen’s story arc following the events of John Wick: Chapter 4, as Caine has been freed from his obligations to the High Table.
The new film was developed as part of Chad Stahelski’s recently announced deal with Lionsgate overseeing the expansion of the John Wick universe and will be shepherded by the franchise producers, Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, and Stahelski, who produces through his 87Eleven Entertainment production banner.

Kenneth Huang was known for his particular taste in wine. Whether in his favorite corner of Cut, the Michelin-starred steakhouse at the Beverly Wilshire, or in the Peninsula Shanghai, Huang would summon a bottle of Opus One to the table. He would tell guests that he had a private reserve of the Napa Valley vineyard’s 2011 vintage, which retails for up to $2,000 a case. Someone who regularly dined with the financier says she drank so much Opus One that she got sick of the bourgeois Bordeaux.
If the wine was Huang’s signature, it was a footnote in a picture rendered to create a specific impression. An outsider in a town familiar with cautionary tales about Chinese riches, Huang was performative about his wealth in a way that put Hollywood power players at ease. He would allow them to think: if this man puts studio executives on private jets to...
