- Colin Hutton was born in Glasgow, the son of a soldier. After flirting with the idea of a military career he quickly ditched that thought, and instead trained as a photographer & film-maker at Bournemouth College of Art & Design.
After graduating he worked as a set builder and assistant art director before winning a Fulbright Fellowship in Screenwriting. He spent a year in the USA under the mentor-ship of William Goldman & John Cleese. He then worked for over a decade as a screenwriter for some of the UK's leading film & TV companies.
Since 2007 Colin has established himself as a versatile photographer predominantly in the world of film & TV publicity. Credits include Sherlock, Ted Lasso, Watchmen, Bridgerton, Succession, Broadchurch, Pennyworth, Outnumbered, Humans, A Young Doctor's Notebook, Houdini & Maigret.
He works both as a unit & specials/marketing photographer; inputting into the creative process and coming up with original shoot concepts. This is complemented by his skills in post-production and retouching enabling him to see a project through from conception to completion.
