Jonathan Osman Ndagi OON, OFR (born 12 November 1930) is a Nigerian scholar, elderly statesman and educationist. He holds a chieftains title Wazirin Makaranta Nupe.[1][2][3]

Background

Born in a place currently known as Katcha, Nigeria. He started his education at Christ Church School, Gusau in 1940 and finished 1944. Then he attended Nigeria College of Art-Science and Technology, Zaria and finished in 1957. He then proceeded to University College Ibadan, now known as University of Ibadan in 1959 and graduated in 1963 and he gained his Ms'c in educative administration at University of Wisconsin in 1969.[4] He started his career as a teacher in Teachers College Minna and Niger Middle Bida, later in 1969 he became in Government College Bida.[4][5][6]

He was appointed the vice chancellor Federal University of Technology, Minna and being the first holder of the position when the institution were established in 1983 there he left the position in 1990 serving for seven years.[7][8]At the time he left office of vice chancellor 42 student were expelled out the school.[9][10][11] Professor Jonathan Ndagi from 1983 to 1990, Professor Mohamned Daniya from 1997 to 2002 and present Professor Abdullahi Bala were both indigenous vice chancellor of the institutions since it establishment in 1983.[12][13]
