Today I'm thrilled to share a live video of "Next Time Around," filmed in the woods near a waterfall in Saugerties by the good folks of The Wild Honey Pie. Just me, my nylon string guitar, nature's majesty, and a very cool vintage Sennheiser mic (and talented people behind the scenes capturing everything of course).

Spring is really springing, and it feels like a great time to share this extremely green video of a song all about infinite possibilities and the incomprehensible vastness of the universe.

Get a taste via the clip, and then watch the full video here.

Do you like merch? Do you like deals? Weeeell allow me to whip the sheet off of a new little nook of the Jennyverse... a cryptic cache of rare and discontinued jennyphemera, it’s JENNY’S SECRET STASH!

The stash is currently stocked with deeply discounted, out-of-print Jenny merch ($12 tees!), alongside the occasional rarity (a stray copy of long-sold-out vinyl, test pressings, etc — right now, there’s an allotment of my instrumental album OFFAIR: from the forest floor pressed on galaxy green vinyl).

When this loot is gone, it’s gone - so don’t wait! I — and my basement storage capacity — thank you for your consideration.

(One caveat: Due to currently exorbitant int’l postage rates, this shop only ships to the United States, at least for the time being.)

Hey friends in the UK and beyond! 🇬🇧 During my recent visit playing shows in England, Scotland, and Ireland, I ran out of shirts and CDs halfway through the tour (so embarrassing). Thus, I have opened a little JOY shop that is ships from the UK, to spare my European friends the bonkers shipping costs from the US. If you came to a show and I was out of the shirt or record you wanted, or if I didn’t come to your town (rude of me), now you can snag some gear, shipping from much more locally!

Wow. Hello. It gives me great "HOORAY" energy to say:

Avalanche, my first studio album of Jennysongs in over a decade, is out today!

This record is a document of the shifting tectonic plates of my existence: love, loss, terrible sadness, profound joy, ancient wounds of my youth, and the endless possibilities of the universe (to say nothing of all the other universes) are all contained within. I am so proud of these songs and these recordings. I hope you'll find them worth the listening.

I'm extremely grateful to all of these folks for sharing their creative gifts with me and helping to bring this record into existence:

Josh Kaufman produced the album, shepherding each song with incredible care. He also played a great many instruments, and his wizardry on guitar, piano, organ, bass, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on is unmatched. Also, he made me delicious eggs, and the importance of proper fortification for a long day in the studio cannot be overstated. What a guy.

D. James Goodwin engineered, mixed, and mastered the album, and brings the golden glow of warmth that pervades these songs.

Matt Barrick played drums and percussion on the record, and did so with incredible feel and glorious tone.

Gillian Pelkonen provided production assistance and absolutely impeccable vibes.

Madi DiazPeter SilbermanMikky EkkoS. CareyChristian Lee HutsonBess Rogers, and Tyler Demorest all cowrote songs with me that appear on this release; they're all also wonderful people I'm so thankful to know.

Josh Goleman took beautiful photographs during the recording process, and Lisa Czech took beautiful photographs in my home and around the wilds of Maine.

The passionate folks of my new label home Yep Roc Records have been incredible partners on every step of the journey thus far (and they let me make gatefold jackets for the vinyl edition, wow wow wow).

I can't believe this day is here at last.

I hope you enjoy Avalanche.

Today "It's Later Than You Think," the third single from Avalanche, is streaming everywhere! This song means a lot to me; and while it's true that I can honestly say that about every song on the record, this is the day I celebrate ILTYT.

⌛️⌛️⌛️

I wrote this song with Peter Silberman of The Antlers (you can see him playing dreamy electric guitar in the live videos I've been sharing alongside the new singles). When we got together to write, we talked a lot about something that was heavy on my mind: my relationship to technology, and how the incredible innovations that help us connect to one another can also leave us feeling isolated, and maybe even a little gross. My wife was also pregnant at the time, and one thing that happened when I was about to become a parent was this: I suddenly became aware that I would not, as I may have unconsciously been supposing, live forever. I wanted to write something as a reminder to myself that time is flying, life is precious, and it's good to put my phone down.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to preorder Avalanche, might I humbly suggest this blessed Bandcamp Friday (today)?!

BC Fri (as it is known to its close friends) is a magical day approximately once a month upon which Bandcamp waives their commission, which means every dollar spent goes directly to the artists and independent labels releasing the music you buy.

As an artist (more or less) working with an independent label (love you Yep Roc Records), I am thankful for these days, and I encourage you to support the artists you love today on Bandcamp! And if that means you preorder Avalanche (on glorious deep purple vinyl, or in digital or CD format), weeeell that is just very cool icing on a very cool cake.

Wow wow wow I am thrilled to say that "Knife Went In," the second single from my album Avalanche (out 9/22 on Yep Roc Records), is streaming everywhere this very day!

Stream "Knife Went In" and preorder the record HERE.

I wrote it with one of my oldest friends, Bess Rogers, and one of my most frequent collaborators, Tyler Demorest. I've written so many songs with these two human beams of light, and it was such a pleasure to lure them into my den of song in order to write something with both of them at the same time; they were a real compositional dream team.

This song means so much to me, and was written for a very tender, vulnerable moment when my life was undergoing great transformation. Common ground is the backbone of human relationships; the easiest things to understand about another person are the things that you share in some way. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of meeting someone and discovering that their scars match your own, so to speak; this creates the opportunity for accelerated intimacy. "Knife Went In" is concerned with reveling in that closeness.

Just like every song on the album, this one was produced by the great Josh Kaufman, mixed and mastered by D. James Goodwin, and received production assistance from Gillian Pelkonen. Matt Barrick played drums, I played guitar and sang, and Josh K played everything else.
